But why call Bhubaneswar City of Temples? Isn't it way more than that? There's something magical about it. The streets, the culture, the ethnicity, the celebration and the people, propels me out of my stillness and welcomes me into the collective emotion of being a "Bhonsoria".
You start your day with the satiating Dahi-bara, Bara-Guguni, Chakuli Pitha. Any family will serve you a four course meal consisting of the traditional Bhata-Dalma, Khata, Saaga, Bhaja. You stroll through any by-lane in the city in the evening and cannot ignore the site of a swamp of a people relishing on "Gup-Chup" , "Chaat". Rupali square near Ram Mandir is the Mecca of these snacks.
Don't me mistaken by the Tourism video of Odisha which depicts only the scenic and cultural beauty of this city. Bhubaneswar has gone through the cusp of modernization or so called urbanization and flaunts outlets of latest fashion brands, numerous eat out joints of variety of cushiness, state of the art gaming arcade, multiplexes and theaters, all that a 21st century urban lifestyle demands.
The health care facility is top notch and mushrooming of top hospitals like AIIMS, AMRI, Sunshine and Care are a testimony to the fact.
Education has been and will remain as the top priority of we "Odiyas". Primary and Secondary education is given almost importance. Odisha has been consistently producing eminent Doctors, Engineers , Scientists , Administrators in various fields. The city boasts of an IIT, IIIT, NISER, OUAT and many more.
All kinds of sport is played with equal fervor but Hockey has carved a special place. Odisha has given India many bright hockey players, Dilip Tirkey, Birendra Lakra, Sunita Lakra to name a few. Bhubaneswar hosted the 2018 Men's Hockey World Cup.
